As far as I know, everyone reading this is human.

And living on Earth. If either of those statements do not apply to you, you can stop reading here (and quite frankly, we’ve got bigger worries if that’s the case). For the rest of us, we live here on Earth. Without getting all sappy and tree-loving sentimental, it’s important that we value the place we live, this place we leave for our kids and grand kids.

As a company, we are proud to recycle, reduce and reuse, and are inspired by the customers we see utilizing their Thrift Town finds to reduce the amount of new products they consume. To celebrate and embrace Earth Week and further enable our customers to embrace these values, we’re having a week of sales!

(* All Thrift Town Sale Days (except for tax-free holidays) do not include color tag items already 50% Off,

Thrift Town Logo Gear or Gift Cards. Coupons not valid on sale day items.)

That’s one amazing week of sales, covering our full range of unique products in our stores. Which day are YOU most excited about?

Well, we’re now in full-blown Spring: The blooms (the allergies), the bees, the planting of new crops in the garden… Encompassing a couple of our sale day departments and focusing on ways to honor the Earth for Earth Week, here’s a couple ways to DIY thrifty embrace your outdoor space, or bring a little bit of outdoor love inside to enjoy:

Add a themed glow to you outdoor space with thrifted pieces:

paint a glaze on the outside of a mason jar, find a matching colored salad plate (or paint it to match), and put them together on top of a garden stake. Line a walk way or spread all over your garden with candles inside, for a colorful luminary glow in your yard.

We love this colorful cascade of cups! Bring an herb garden inside or hang it outside - secondhand lightweight metal mugs are easily strung together with twine tied at the handles. Add in whatever little edibles you want and watch it grow - so cute!

Give ordinary planters the BOOT! We carry some big sizes in our men’s shoes. Like, BIG. Get a pair that’s just your (gardening) size and use it for a whimsical planter, inside or outside!

Here’s a vibrant, bird-friendly take on what is now become a DIY favorite planter idea:

  • Start with different sized pots. They don’t have to match - so thrift it up! Just make sure they all have a decent sized drain hole in the bottom.
  • Paint your pots in matching or multiple colors.
  • Place largest pot on the bottom, and put a large/tall gardening stake through the center hole.
  • Now continue to add pots, running the stake through the center holes, but alternating directions on the angles, as seen in the picture.
  • When it’s as tall as you’d like, make your top pot vertical, and add to it a large thrifted bowl (and maybe a cute ceramic bird to encourage winged visiters)
  • Fill your pots with whatever your heart desires. Blooms or edibles, it’s your creation - have fun!
  • If you want a bird BATH: fill with water. Bird FEEDER: fill with seed.
  • TA-DA!

We hope this gives you a head start on getting out there for the season and embracing Earth Week. Happy Thrifting!
