Spring has sprung: Happy first day of Spring everyone!
Time for bright colors, mixing, matching, and maybe a bit of coming out from under all those winter layers. Although it’s technically spring today, it’s raining here in Sacramento, so not quite tank tops and sandals for us yet…
We thought we’d share some fun spring looks, some of them still keeping you warm in these few weeks of drizzle.

This spring, STRIPES are BIG. Pair stripes with bright fun colors, or even (gasp!) other patterns! Big stripes with tiny plaid, or floral prints is trending this year. We LOVE both these images, the combinations of colors and patterns. When shopping in our stores, go in with your perfect spring color palette in mind and since we shop by size and color, your shopping just got way easier.
Blues, greens, yellows, stripes & polka dots // Pinks, oranges, khakis and florals.
So wonderfully spring.

Not quite into the bright bold contrasting patterns and colors? Here’s a super casual way to pop a simple outfit without going to wild on the color combinations. Still on trend with the stipes, and using a muted orange to put that little bit of spring in your step. Honestly, with this look, you could pretty uch substitute orange for any bright color you want and it would still look great. Experiment!
See? Same idea, just move around where the color and patterns go. So much fun to mix and match for spring.
For an easy DIY to wear with a spring skirt or shorts and sandals, this ribboned keyhole sweater is so adorable.
Come get a comfy sweater at Thrift Town, and cut a slit in along the shoulder down about 7″. Fold over raw edge and sew in place. Sew a piece of ribbon about 15″ long to one side of neckline and another ribbon to the other side of the neckline. Tie together, and TA-DA! ___________________________________________________
This spring, maxi skirts (and dresses) are a major trend. We’ve got both at Thrift Town, but you can also make your own! We searched Pinterest and found a pretty straightforward tutorial on making your own. I recently found a brand new jersey-knit sheet set at Thrift Town and made myself a maxi skirt + a blouse with fabric to spare!
