Happy Secondhand wardrobe week everyone! I’m sure you already had it on your calendars and have fun plans to celebrate, but we wanna get in on the action too.
See, buying secondhand is one thing, but having a full secondhand wardrobe is quite another, cause it can’t be done in one fell swoop. If you’re still working up to full wardrobe status, here’s a few tips for effective wardrobe-ing:
TAKE STOCK & CLEAR OUT.
To move toward a sustainable secondhand wardrobe you first have to take stock of what you do have & clear out the stuff that doesn’t need to stay. Donate the non-keeper items and start fresh.
Go by season and just look at the current clothes (right now: winter). Decide what basics you need, and make a list including colors you want.
FOCUS FOCUS.
When you get to Thrift Town, don’t just mosey in and look at everything. Start with your current (winter) list items. You can go straight to the medium sized yellow jackets if need be, making connecting with the perfect items for you a plausible reality.
Once you’ve found the items that match up with your list, now look in the other sections & other seasons. That way you’re not stocking up on cute tank tops and end up blowing your budget before finding the jacket that you actually need now.
SEASON BY SEASON.
That being said, unlike department stores, we carry all seasons all year. So when you find that amazing cashmere sweater when it’s 102 outside, it’s no sweat. Spend the $5, and look forward to the first big chill in 4 months.
SALE-HAPPY
Keep an eye on your inbox for coupons and sales from us! Picking a sale day or using a coupon sometimes makes the difference in saying yes to that one great piece you find. Thrift Town makes it easy to save even more by always having a color tag that’s 50% off, and with an amazing VIP program that brings extra savings directly to your inbox!
HABITS.
Keep your list on you and swing by Thrift Town on your way home, on your way out, or really any time (within normal business hours of corse. haha) Whether you’re shopping for yourself or for your kids, having a full sustainable secondhand wardrobe happens over time, piece by piece, season by season, creating the looks that you love for less. So making a habit of stopping by for a few minutes to check in on your list items is a great way to keep it all moving forward. With 4,000 new items out every day in every Thrift Town store, there’s a good chance you’ll be able to find something you’re looking for.
SHOW OFF.
When all of the elements in your wardrobe are secondhand, it’s something to be proud of, so show it off! I love my outfits under $20, and telling people where I got it all.

Hi Vanessa! Thanks for reaching out to us. Unfortunately we do not offer an online shopping solution at this time. As a mom of three, I totally understand how expensive it is to outfit children, especially during growth spurts! We sincerely appreciate you taking the time to contact us, and enjoy that growing baby boy!
