MOST CREATIVE COSTUME: $100 GIFT CARD
OOMPA-LOOMPA-DOOPITY-DO! What a well-done costume!
This is my 8 year old son in a costume that cost under $15! The shirt and pants were purchased for 2.99 a piece from Thrift Town and the socks were a bargain- brand new for 99 cents! A little spray paint, acrylic paint and some sewing and we got the best Oompa Loompa costume ever!

BEST CHILD GROUP COSTUMES:
My 9 year old wanted to be a pirate and my 6 year old wanted to be a snowman.
For my pirate, I purchased the dress for the pirate costume and added the shirt, skull, belt and headwrap. The snowman posed a bit more of a challenge. I bought a woman’s bathrobe and with a bit of snipping and sewing, I transformed it into a snowman suit. The scarf and broom were accessories I found at Thrift Town.
The kids loved thier costumes and best of all, I didn’t spend a fortune on them. I managed to complete both costumes for under $20! Wow - what a deal! I love my El Sobrante Thrift Town!

BEST CHILD’S COSTUME: Jenny A.
My daughter Kaya, who wants to be a drummer when she grows up, wanted to be Animal from the Muppets. The majority of her costume was put together with things from Thrift Town as well. I was able to find three different feather boas, a pink hoodie, brown pants, a yellow tshirt, plastic teeth, white rope/twine, tennis balls for the eyes, and a clown nose…

BEST HOME DECOR: Chris M.
For halloween this year I wanted to make something spectacular and eye catching. My wife hates the movie arachnaphobia and I thought what would scare people most is a giant spider. I didn’t find anything big enough for my vision elsewhere so I decided to make my huge homemade spider…
I made this by myself out of plywood and paper. Its eyes light up and it spits fog when people walk underneath it. I put a fake head in its mouth so it looked like it had eaten someone. Kids loved it but the adults actually loved it more than the kids. I put spider webs all around it and I attached baby spiders that would come down when people walked underneath it too. I hope you love it as much as everyone else does!

BEST THEMED GROUP COSTUME:
In our group we have King Arthur, Sir Lancelot, Merlin, Joan of Ark,
and of course The Sword in the Stone.
BEST MEN’S COSTUME: Nicholas A.
A bit more of a creative take on a well-known character, Nicholas dressed as Ronald McDonald.
Everything was purchased from Thrift Town. Stripes and shoes are made with red tape and emblem is red and yellow paper from Thrift Town flyers.
