Summer Tablescapes
It’s hot. Have you noticed?
It’s a busy bustling time as everyone wraps up their summer vacations and heads back to school and work (all you teachers ready for little ones?). So we’re here to help you soak up those last few moments of summer sweetness and heat in a way that celebrates the season.
What says summer like color and enjoying the outdoors with loved ones? Cool drinks, great food, and a beautiful area to add to the day. We found a light and cheery tablescape over on this cool thrifty blog.
Amazing to know what can be done with mix-and-match secondhand pieces! Personally, I feel like this aesthetic is so much more rich, as opposed to a coordinated matchy-matchy set. It shows off your personal aesthetic, and proves that you can think outside the box.
Start with pieces that have multiple colors in them, for inspiration and a blueprint on moving forward with your coordination.
Then snatch up the elements for your table one piece or set at a time, in varying shades of the hues in your original piece. Add in textures and different materials (ceramic, metal, glass, fabric) to give your table more dimension.

And go UP! The more variety you can have in height, the more well-rounded it will feel. Keep your eye out for little seasonal touches that add a sense of whimsy to your tablescape. These little sparrows are the perfect pieces to bring a sense of summer to an already colorful display of thriftiness.

Love the conbination of colours you put together. I also agree that mixing patterns and hues looks so much better than matchy-matchy, but it’s not easy to do! Thanks for the great tips!
