Thrifty Fourth of July Projects

Happy (almost) Independence Day!

Nothing says summertime like a good Fourth of July celebration, and we found a fun DIY craft to shed a little festive light on a fun day into evening time with loved ones.

You may remember our post on Mason Jars, and our penchant for spray paint - here’s a summer twist.

These transformed mason jars are a fun way to both decorate an outdoor table for a 4th of July celebration
or a safe way to entertain the kids during fireworks.

Supplies:
Red /white / blue spray paint
Mason Jars
Star or stripe stickers
Newspaper

Scatter stickers on the mason jars, make sure they’re stuck on tight for crisp lines.

Screw on the mason jar lid and cap and place on top of a table covered in newspaper in a well ventilated area (outside is best)
Spray with the paint from a nice distance around the entire jar until it’s coated well, but without drips.

Wait at least a couple hours for the jar to dry and carefully peel off the star stickers.

You can obviously do this project for any occasion, switching out the colors and shapes -
a glowy evening summer wedding, Halloween luminaries, a sweet-as-pie baby shower… so many possibilities!

Speaking of holidays - Thrift Town always has a Seasonal Section- whatever the closest holiday is, look for a whole section devoted to it! Decorations, color themed glassware, sometimes even clothes racks with holiday clothes. For the Fourth, make sure to stop by our Seasonal Section for red, white & blue DIY supplies and more.

You may find already made wreaths (not JUST at Christmas time), but I love finding supplies at Thrift Town and making seasonal wreaths,
like this one, made with fabric - just a little inspiration.
