Job Summary

The Assistant Floor Supervisor is responsible for maximizing the value of each customer’s shopping experience while protecting the interests of Thrift Town by directing and monitoring crew members, providing excellent checkout assistance, and maintaining a neat, attractive, and safe retail area.

All employees are also responsible for understanding and embracing Thrift Town’s vision, mission, and values in the workplace, as well as upholding the Thrift Town’s standards pertaining to our ‘clean, bright, and organized’ image.

Job Duties & Responsibilites
  • Provide “Best in Class” customer service at all times.
  • Be knowledgeable, adhere to, and enforce all NSC/Thrift Town policies, procedures, and work rules.
  • Assist Store Management in the hiring, performance reviews & disciplinary actions of crew members.
  • Train and coach new crew members, and continuously train and coach crew members to improve the quality of their work.
  • Assure proper work pace is maintained and required tasks are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Keep Management informed of all complaints, concerns, and work-related issues.
  • Communicate and respond to all crew & customer injuries if necessary.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of all aspects of the store, including pricing, coloring, sizing, and other types of production and floor work.
  • Monitor dressing rooms by enforcing dressing room rules, assisting customers, inspecting dressing rooms after use to prevent vandalism and theft, and returning unwanted garments to sales floor.
  • Maintain an awareness of all promotions and advertisements in accordance to the Company marketing plan.
  • Maintain a safe environment, reporting all hazards or unsafe work practices, and performing effective floor control to keep aisles clear.
  • Maintain company standards with the merchandising and display areas of the stores by working with a team of Retail Associates.
Working Conditions
  • Working indoors on retail floor and back room of store as needed
  • May work briefly outdoors on an infrequent basis
  • Frequent contact with store employees, customers, truck drivers, donors, vendors and contractors
  • Ability to work varied hours/days, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed
Qualifications
  • One to two years of customer focused retail operations experience, supervisory experience preferred
  • Ability to supervise, motivate, and lead a team of employees
  • Must possess strong customer service skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with store management, crew members and customers
