Hello Pantone, It’s Not Your Grandma’s Spring Pallette
Back in the day, Pantone created ink colors for the printing press. They still do, but with the invent of digital printing, Pantone press colors are a little less needed than they used to be. Pantone branched out into the paint biz and they also started creating seasonal Pantone Fashion Color Trend Reports. These reports come straight off the NY Fashion Week catwalk and are a color overview highlighting the top colors used by fashion designers for the upcoming fashion season. The Pantone Fashion Color Trend Report is your guide to the season’s most important color trends. This Spring’s color forecast is not your grandma’s traditional spring color mix. Say goodbye to the light and airy easter egg colors and say hello to saturated, bold and electric color!
Laurie Pressman Pantone Color Institute says, “The mindset for Spring/Summer 2019 reflects our desire to face the future with empowering colors that provide confidence and spirit; colors that are uplifting; joyful hues that lend themselves to playful expressionism and take us down a path of creative and unexpected combinations. This season’s report features the top 12 stand out colors, as well as current takes on the four classic neutrals.”
