Velveteen Dream
On my last trip to Thrift Town I had velvet in mind. I was hoping for one piece of velvet clothing (if I got lucky), but instead found 4 velvet dresses!
The first one that I found was just about perfect so I didn’t alter it.
The second dress was cute and form-fitting, but I wasn’t too fond of the trim on the sleeves and front.
First, I removed the trim from around the neck.
Second, I removed the trim from the sleeves.
Then, I wore it! I liked the trim on the bottom so I left it be.
The next dress I found was cute but needed a more youthful change.
First, I traced where I wanted my new neckline to fall.
Second, I cut out a new neckline.
Third, I traced a diamond on the back of the dress and cut it out.
Then I wore it!
The last dress I found was floral and perfect for a halter dress.
First, I cut along an existing seam on the front. I repeated this on the other side as well.
Second, I added new seams where I previously cut and made ties for the halter.
Then I wore it!
Hope you guys have a great New Year,
