Secret Book Jewelry Box
Recently i’ve come across tons of cute “book” jewelry boxes all over in stores and I wanted to try and make my own! Not only are they cute for holding jewelry but I keep mine by my bed and any little trinkets that don’t have a place in my room I throw in there! Also good for hiding things to disguise it as a book. These thrifted books I found were only $2 and perfect for the project! When looking for books to make as a box, make sure they are thick enough to actually cut into to carry your items.
Now, the cutting process is quite intricate but once its done, its worth it! What you need is an exact-o knife, glue, and a paint brush. (this might get messy)
First use an exact-o knife to start cutting the pages as big as you’d like the hole to be. I cut at least 5 pages at a time so that the edge would be more exact and clean cut.
Then once you’ve gotten as far as you’d like to go, glue the pages together with Mod Podge. Don’t close the book while glueing because it will dry closed together!
Once you’ve let it dry and all the pages are glued together expect for the front cover, you’ll have a nice little one of a kind jewelry box and no one will even know!
I hope you try out this idea because it sure made one cute decoration for my room on top of holding my jewelry! Show us what you make by tagging @thrifttown on instagram and twitter and follow! Thanks & happy thrifting!

Darling idea Ali! Might try a few of these for our daughter’s room. You can never have enough places to keep trinkets.
Thank you! and yes, thats exactly what I was thinking
