Mommy Moments; Chandelier Bird Housing Complex Project
Here’s a DIY project the kids can do that’s perfect for spring and it will get the birds singing at the top of their tiny little lungs, which goes along with my initial sentences. Spring makes me happy and the birds are singing. A chandelier turn bird housing complex. Yes, it’s a mouthful, but it’s cute. Read More →
Mommy Moments; No-Sew DIY T-Shirt Blanket
Got too many t-shirts? Thrift Town may just have a solution that will still allow for proper homage to be paid to those special moments in time, in addition to being able to close those dresser drawers a little easier…make them into a t-shirt blanket! This would be a very thoughtful gift for pre-school, high-school, or college graduates. Read More →
Fashion Friday; Sixties Revival
The 60’s were a time in history when women really began to
embrace their femininity in ways not seen previously. A time when prim and
proper was tossed aside momentarily for a more flirtatious mini skirt or shift
dress. Mary Quant was the designer credited with the ‘mini’ and one of my
favorite quotes by her read: ‘the fashionable woman wears clothes. The clothes
don’t wear her.’ I couldn’t agree more! Read More →

Mommy Moments, Expecting Lily Sue
Repeat after me; babies don’t wear out their clothes, they simply outgrow them. Shopping thrift for baby needs is probably the best savings tip I could give a new mom. So, after practically wiping out Thrift Town’s entire baby department of all things pink (thankfully they restock with 4,000 new to you items every day in every store), I ended up with 75 pieces of clothing for $40! Yes, I used my full super shopper card and received $10 off my purchase, and I looked for items that were on the 50% off color tag of the week rotation (which coincidentally was PINK), maximizing my savings. Mommy Moments; Frame It Up
A few months ago, I was walking through a big box retail store looking for a few frames for some Pinterest inspired projects I had in mind. I finally found the frame department whereby I suddenly went into shock…sticker shock that is. Seriously, $19.99 for a basic silver 5×7 frame? Or $29.99 for an 8×10? I turned the corner to find the extremely large frames which is what I came in to purchase. Armed with my 50% off coupon, and being the math genius I am (not), I quickly calculated how much it would cost. WAY TOO MUCH. I pushed my SUV cart (you know the ones that once all your kids are piled in you can’t navigate in a straight line much less make a turn at the end of the aisle without a: injuring yourself or b: knocking over a display), got in the car and headed to Thrift Town. Fashion Friday; Sacramento Children's Home Fashion Show
My first blog post is on a thrifted charity fashion show I did recently at Lucca Restaurant benefitting the Sacramento Children’s Home. I felt honored to be part of such a wonderful fundraising event and excited to have had the opportunity to show case some of my finest thrift store finds! I searched high and low for pieces that fit the theme. What was that theme you may ask? A bright and cheery Spring lineup with a bit of a 60’s inspired twist. Read More →
